Malaysia Airlines Operations to South Africa Update

MALAYSIA AIRLINES’ FLIGHT OPERATIONS TO SOUTH AFRICA

Johannesburg (10 November 2011): In light of today’s articles stating that Malaysia Airlines is planning to pull flights to South Africa, it has been confirmed that this information was not obtained from an official Malaysia Airlines press release.

Staff of Malaysia Airlines in South Africa have been advised that business is to continue as usual.  Please be advised that flight schedules, fares and inventory ex South Africa will remain unchanged until 31 January 2012. 

Should a decision to suspend flights to South Africa be made, the market will be given advance notice and the airline will do all possible to assist passengers and our travel trade partners.

 

New update: 11 January 2012:

Malaysia Airlines has confirmed that MH is closing / suspending all flights to/from SA. Last flight out of JNB is 28 Jan'12 and last flight out of CPT is on 30 Jan'12.
